Jota tipped for sensational Celtic return amid ‘massive’ claim – expert
Celtic would take Jota back “in a minute” if he was available as a free transfer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie said it is a “massive statement” if Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad have paid out the winger’s contract after just months at the club.
Last month reports surfaced that the 24-year-old had his contract terminated by the Saudi side.

Jota joined Al Ittihad earlier this summer in a £25million deal, a year after putting pen to paper on a permanent deal at Parkhead.
The winger is yet to make the starting XI for the Saudi side who have also signed superstars Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
The Saudi window does not officially close until 7 September.
When asked if the Hoops would take Jota back if he was available for free, McAvennie told Football Insider: “In a minute but I do not know if he is Brendan’s kind of player.
“They have supposedly paid out his contract which is a massive statement. Going over there for a month and getting millions of pounds is not bad going.
“As long as he came back, turned up and played then the fans would be happy.“

The Saudi Pro League side are not yet done with their pursuit of the UK’s top players.
Football Insider revealed (2 September) that Nuno Espirito Santo’s club are returning with an improved bid of almost £200m in an effort to lure Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool before their window closes on Thursday (7 September).
