Journalist: Leeds star ruled out of action as club ignore Christiansen's wishes

Leeds United have chosen not to appeal Eunan O’Kane’s red card against Ipswich Town meaning he is set to be ruled out of action for the club’s next three games, according to a journalist.
The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the deadline to make a claim over the dismissal passed at 12:00 on Monday without the Whites tabling an official appeal against the decision, meaning the regular suspension of three games will be upheld.

However the club’s decision not to call for a re-examination of the sending off goes against what Thomas Christiansen had wished for, confirming after the game that he was hoping the club would choose to support the 27-year-old and look to have the ban rescinded.
O’Kane was handed his marching orders less than 10 minutes before the end of the first half for an off-the-ball incident involving one of the home players at Portman Road, with Christiansen’s remaining 10 men succumbing to a 1-0 defeat which resulted in the club slipping out of the play-off spots into seventh.
The midfielder’s impending ban means that the Danish boss has a number of issues to contend with for their next game against Millwall on Saturday, having seen Samu Saiz handed a six-game ban for spitting during the 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Newport County.
In other Leeds United news, a top chief has confirmed that the club have been engaged on an extended transfer mission at one club.
