Real Madrid have responded well to their 1-1 draw with Al Hilal on 18 June, earning consecutive wins over Pachuca, Salzburg, and Juventus.

After Los Blancos beat Juventus, Mbappe shared an emotional message via Instagram on Wednesday, 2 July: “Quarter-finals here we come. So happy to be back with the squad after that difficult time.

“Thank you to all the fans in Miami for the support, I felt so loved here. See you in NYC. Hala Madrid!”

Madrid are performing well in the Club World Cup

Alonso’s men showed they mean business with their 1-0 win over the Serie A giants on Monday, while Borussia Dortmund will provide a tough test on Saturday.

The Bundesliga outfit were held to a 0-0 draw by Fluminense on 17 June, but have subsequently enjoyed victories over Mamelodi Sundowns, Ulsan HD, and Monterrey.

However, with Mbappe now available once more, Real Madrid should be viewed as the favourites to go on and win the Club World Cup this summer.

The France international notched a strong return of 43 goals and five assists in 56 appearances last season, and will be able to trouble the Dortmund backline in New York this Saturday.
