Jude Bellingham, Miles Lewis-Skelly react to ‘proud’ Jobe after Sunderland exit
Jude Bellingham and Myles Lewis-Skelly reacted to Jobe Bellingham on social media after the former Sunderland man made his debut for Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham made the switch to Dortmund this summer for a fee of £27million [BBC Sport] after playing a crucial role in Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League.
There had been plenty of speculation that the 19-year-old may stick with the Black Cats after their playoff win over Sheffield United, but the midfielder instead chose to follow in his elder brother’s path by heading to the Westfalenstadion.
Bellingham made his debut for the German side on Tuesday, 17 June, coming off the bench for half an hour in Dortmund’s 0-0 draw with Brazilian side Fluminense.
Wearing number 77, the English midfielder’s passing was tidy, but he was unable to help his side break down the South American side’s strong defence.

Jobe Bellingham sends message after making Dortmund debut
Following the draw, Bellingham shared several images of himself in action at the MetLife stadium, home of NFL side New York Giants and New York Jets, on Instagram.
The post was captioned: “Very proud to have my debut in black & yellow. Big games coming up.. Just the beginning.”
Real Madrid star and older brother Jude, as well as English compatriot Lewis-Skelly, liked the post, showing their support for the former Sunderland man.
Sunderland target experience to replace young stars
Football Insider Verdict
Not only have the Black Cats lost Bellingham this summer, but playoff hero Tommy Watson has also joined Brighton.
Chris Rigg is also garnering interest from Everton, and losing a trio of players as talented as them would be difficult for any side to deal with.
But with cash to play with, it would be no surprise to see Regis Le Bris’ side change their approach to transfers this summer.
The club have made a habit of recruiting young talent for reasonable fees and developing them, and it has brought them to England’s top-flight.
However, the Premier League is a different beast, and the North Eastern side will need experience to guide their young stars through what will be a difficult campaign.
Sunderland have been linked with a move for Jordan Henderson, whilst Vladimir Coufal could move to the Stadium of Light this summer.
