Jude Bellingham responds after confirmed Liverpool transfer news

Jude Bellingham and Dominik Szoboszlai were among the players from across the football world to react after a major Liverpool departure was officially confirmed.

Liverpool have enjoyed a remarkable season under Arne Slot, with the Dutchman guiding the club to a Premier League title in his very first campaign at Anfield.

With Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk recently signing new contracts, the club have secured two of their most important players as they look to build a dominant new era under Slot.

However, one key figure won’t be part of that future. Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed he will leave Liverpool once his contract expires next month.

Now, with the season now ending, the club have released further details surrounding the departure of their homegrown star.

The decision to push through the transfer early has been made to allow the 25-year-old to feature in the Club World Cup, which begins on 14 June.

Only weeks ago, Alexander-Arnold was met with boos from sections of the Liverpool fanbase, but that tension appeared to lift, with a much warmer reception given to him on the final day of the season at Anfield.

He departs after making 354 senior appearances for Liverpool, excluding his time at academy level. Over his tenure, he provided 92 assists and scored 23 goals, establishing himself as one of the most creative defenders in the game.

With Alexander-Arnold’s departure now confirmed, the Reds have moved quickly to secure a replacement.

Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong ahead of a summer move.

The Dutch international has had another standout season in the Bundesliga, recording 12 assists and surpassing Alexander-Arnold’s tally of eight.

Liverpool are expected to trigger Frimpong’s release clause, which is just under £30 million, making him a likely candidate to become Arne Slot’s first signing ahead of the 2025/26 season.
