Jurgen Klopp has ‘whipped up media storm’ after Liverpool picture emerges – pundit

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp ruffled Jarrod Bowen’s hair “to whip up a storm” in the media, according to Paul Robinson.

However, the ex-Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, believes “too much” is being read into Klopp’s actions at Anfield.

Bowen hobbled off after 53 minutes of West Ham’s 1-0 loss at Liverpool on Saturday.

As pictured by the Liverpool Echo (6 March), Klopp patted the Hammers forward on the head as he left the pitch.

Speaking to Football.London about the incident, David Moyes revealed his counterpart was “very complimentary” about his players.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if anything can be read into Klopp’s actions, Robinson said:

“I think too much has been read into that one, if I’m being honest.

“That was Jurgen Klopp using the media as an opportunity to whip up a storm.

“Liverpool are known to be admirers of Bowen but I don’t think they will be actively looking to add to their front line this summer. Not unless somebody leaves.

“They’ve already got five brilliant players in those forward positions, as well as Bowen has done this season.”

As revealed by Football Insider (13 January), Jurgen Klopp’s side are keeping close tabs on Bowen’s progress at the London Stadium.

The ex-Hull City man has registered eight goals and 10 assists in 28 Premier League games this season – only Mohamed Salah has more goal contributions in the division.
