Jurgen Klopp sanctions January exit for Liverpool attacker after summer bid made – reports

Jurgen Klopp will sanction a loan exit for Liverpool attacker Ben Woodburn in the January transfer window, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims that Woodburn, 18, will be shipped out on temporary terms with the Championship being his most likely destination.

It is understood that there will now be a scramble for the Wales international after he was made available to exit Anfield on a temporary basis as no agreement has been reached as of yet.

The Daily Mail reported in the summer that German Bundesliga side Hannover made a loan bid for the Liverpool winger, however that was kicked into touch by Klopp as they looked to keep a close eye on his development on Merseyside.

Woodburn has featured just once in the senior side this season but has still been able to earn his first full international cap with Wales when Chris Coleman called him into his side in September.

Football Insider verdict

Woodburn is a terrific talent and his lack of football this season is definitely a bit concerning. That hasn’t stopped Wales from calling the youngster up to make his debut but it is still important for him to be playing weekly football in the first-team. There is going to be one lucky Championship club in January who gets to play a major role in the development of this budding star. It’s no secret about how good Woodburn is and it wouldn’t be a shock to see all 24 second-tier clubs making an effort to land the Welsh teen next month. It would perhaps be best if he goes to a team who is fighting at the top of the table though as that will install a winning mentality into the player at a young age.
