Kalvin Phillips may have signed quadruple-your-money deal as new Man City claim issued – pundit

Kalvin Phillips may have quadrupled his wages by signing for Man City, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Phillips could not turn down a move to the Etihad.

City confirmed the £45million signing of the 26-year-old from Leeds United earlier this week (4 July).

Football Insider exclusively revealed last month (25 June) that the England international had agreed a £150,000-a-week salary at his new club.

He has signed a six-year contract with Pep Guardiola’s side worth around £46.8million in wages alone.

“He’s irreplacable for Leeds,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It’s a great move for him. He won’t play too many games next season because Rodri is still the first name on the teamsheet.

“There are so many games, so many competitions and Pep likes to rotate so he will get football, Kalvin Phillips.

“You can’t turn down what is probably quadruple your money at Man City and the chance to play in the Champions League and fight for the Premier League.

“It’s similar to Jack Grealish, you can’t turn it down.

“Leeds are in big, big trouble. I have banter with Leeds fans but I’m really worried about them.

“Raphinha, will leave. He’s holding out for Barcelona but he will leave to go there or Chelsea.

“Next season Leeds are going to be in a relegation battle, 1000 per cent. Last season teams had worked them out and now they have lost a lot of their strength.”

In other news, an expert has revealed Phillips will be “gutted” as behind-the-scenes Man City images emerge.
