Kenny predicts Sheffield United to avoid ‘devastating’ blow amid Gibbs-White recall fears

Paddy Kenny claims Wolves won’t recall Morgan Gibbs-White from his loan at Sheffield United.

The former Blades stopper, spoke exclusively to Football Insider amid fears the attacker could be recalled.

Gibbs-White, 21, has scored five goals and chipped in with four assists in the Championship since joining Sheffield United on loan from Wolves last summer (2021).

Paul Heckingbottom told The Star (9 December) “there’s been no indication” from Wolves over whether they will recall their young star.

The same publication reported Wolves do have the option to recall the attacker.

However, Kenny can’t see Wolves taking up that option as it would disrupt the player’s development.

“It would be devastating to lose him now,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I don’t see who we could get in who can bring the same energy and quality in the midfield.

“I don’t see any reason why Wolves would recall him. They seem to be doing pretty well.

“I don’t think he would want that as well. Everything is going so well for him here.

“He looks a popular lad and he is the man winning us points at the moment.

“Personally, I think he will stay. I can’t see a reason why Wolves would recall him.”

Gibbs-White has made 86 senior appearances for Wolves since making his debut for the club back n 2017.

The attacker went on loan to Swansea last season but was recalled in January after only making five appearances.

In other news, pundit ‘sure’ Heckingbottom has been given transfer ‘guarantee’ by Sheffield United ahead of January.
