Kieran Maguire: Amanda Staveley to provide £27m Newcastle United boost
Amanda Staveley’s role at Newcastle United can improve relations with sponsors and partners to boost their £26.5million commercial revenue.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Staveley’s ‘front-of-house’ role at St James’ Park.
Staveley has been involved with the Magpies since the club’s Saudi Arabian-backed takeover in 2021.
The 50-year-old owns a 10 per cent stake in the club and works very closely with the Saudi PIF, who owns a majority stake in the Tyneside outfit.
Staveley remains a director on the board at St James’ Park and has helped the club strike major commercial deals with Sela and Noon since the takeover was completed.
Newcastle United reported commercial revenue of £26.5million in their 2021/22 accounts, but Football Insider revealed in April that Newcastle are on track to increase that figure to £40million in 2022/23.
Maguire believes Staveley’s business network is crucial in terms of improving relations with sponsors, while the PIF’s role has primarily been providing funds for the club.
“Staveley has very much been handed a front-of-house role at Newcastle since the takeover and that suits all parties involved with the club,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“Newcastle are able to use her network to improve relations with sponsors and commercial partners.

“That is an area the club have prioritised for improvement since the takeover.
“Meanwhile, PIF are in the background supplying the funding to the club.“
