Kieran Trippier: Newcastle tell Everton to pay seven-figure fee

Newcastle United are asking clubs trying to sign Kieran Trippier this week for all of his wages to be paid, sources have told Football Insider.

A multi-million-pound loan fee will also be expected on any deal for the 33-year-old before the transfer window closes on Friday night.

The Magpies are keen to get Trippier off the wage bill this week after Tino Livramento replaced him as the first-choice right-back.

Everton have held talks over signing the England international on loan, but no agreement is in place yet.

Trippier has been on the bench for both of Newcastle’s Premier League games this season and was brought on during the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth this past weekend.

However, with Livramento now Eddie Howe’s first choice, the club are hoping to reduce the wage bill with Trippier.

Newcastle United want to move Kieran Trippier on

Trippier was Newcastle’s first signing under the new Saudi era, and he’s played a crucial role in the club’s success since that point.

The right-back has made 93 appearances for the Magpies, scoring four goals and providing 21 assists.

Trippier’s Newcastle contract has one year left, and his house was put up for sale earlier this summer.

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi in action for France

Newcastle are still in the market to sign a central defender before the transfer window shuts, and the club are monitoring Chelsea’s Axel Disasi.

Football Insider revealed that transfer is “one to keep an eye on” as Howe wants a new centre-back.
