Kieran Trippier reacts to heartfelt Newcastle exit announcement

Kieran Trippier reacted to the news of a Newcastle departure on social media as the club endure a miserable transfer window.

The Magpies went into the summer full of optimism. The club had secured a return to the Champions League and have a trophy to go with it after beating Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

What’s more, after several frugal windows, Eddie Howe‘s side looked financially equipped to make some big signings as they prepare for their return to Europe.

Anthony Elanga was signed after failing to sign Bryan Mbeumo, but that’s about as good as it’s gotten this summer.

As well as the Cameroonian, Newcastle have missed out on Hugo Ekitike, Dean Huijsen, James Trafford, and plenty of other targets.

To add to their misery, Alexander Isak has made clear his intentions to leave Newcastle this summer in the face of interest from Liverpool.

Newcastle making strong academy moves

Away from the chaos of the first team’s situation, it has been a good summer for the Magpies’ youth set-up.

Park Seung-soo and Antonio Cordero have bolstered Newcastle‘s youth ranks, whilst players like Tino Livramento and William Osula enjoyed successful youth tournaments for their countries.

Meanwhile, the club also announced that midfielder Joe White has left on loan to garner more experience next season.

In a post on Instagram, the club said: “Joe White has joined Leyton Orient on loan for the 25/26 season. Best of luck, Joe White!”

The post was liked by Trippier, showing his support for the youngster who has made five appearances for the club since coming through their academy.

Kieran Trippier set for key role at Newcastle

Football Insider Verdict

Trippier made just 14 starts in the Premier League after being usurped as Howe’s favourite option at right-back by Livramento.

There was an expectation that the former Tottenham man might depart the club, and he was linked with a move to Turkey in January.

However, Trippier remained on Tyneside, and that may well prove a blessing, as Livramento is wanted by Man City.

Whilst no longer an ideal option as a first-choice option, the defender is still a talented and experienced option.

What’s more, with so much uncertainty plaguing Newcastle, Trippier’s experience will be invaluable for the younger members of the squad.
