Late Celtic player should be remembered for Champions League glory nights

COMMENT
Everyone in football was saddened by the death of former Celtic and Manchester United midfield Liam Miller, who died of cancer at the shockingly young age of 36.
The player may have only had a brief spell in the Hoops first-team, but it should be fondly remembered for the goals and victories it provided.
After spending years in the Hoops youth system, the Irishman managed to break into the Bhoys first-team in 2003, and he immediately established himself as a goal threat.
This was particularly true in the Champions League group stages, where the player made a huge impact.
He scored the opening goal in the 2-0 win over French champions Lyon, getting on the end of a passing move to net with a brave header.
He then showed his prowess with a superb goal in the 3-1 victory over Anderlecht.
Just when it seemed that he was going to be a mainstay of the Hoops side for years to come, it was announced that the player had joined Manchester United on a pre-contract agreement.
The news brought the player plenty of criticism from Hoops fans, as he had decided to leave the club which had nurtured his talent.
Looking back though, you can’t really blame the player for joining such a huge club, and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Hopefully the passing of time will show that Miller will get the respect he deserves for playing a part in some huge Celtic victories.
