Leeds centre-back confirms exit on Twitter after 11 years at club
By Matt Bullin
Leeds centre-back Jack Vann has confirmed he is leaving the club by posting an emotional message on Twitter.
The 18-year-old, who joined the club in 2006, has been released after signing his first professional deal last summer.
Vann failed to break into the first team during his spell at Elland Road, but he did feature on the bench in their FA Cup 4th Round tie against Sutton United this season.
The 2015/16 season saw Vann make a total of 40 appearances for the Whites’ Youth teams, but this season he has failed to kick on and he has now been released by the club.
He took to Twitter to confirm the news, posting a message on his personal Twitter account.
He wrote: “An amazing 11 years @LUFC it’s time for a new chapter.”
Vann has also been called up to the England Under-16s squad in his time, though he was never capped for them.
Leeds finished the season agonisingly just outside the play-offs in seventh, after occupying a top-six spot for much of 2017.
In other Leeds news, fans have called for their club to sign this centre-back.
