Leeds fans react on Twitter as midfielder returns to training

Leeds captain Liam Bridcutt is back in training following a lengthy injury spell – and fans took to Twitter to express their delight.
The 27-year-old midfielder has missed much of the campaign with a metatarsal problem, and has been restricted to just four Championship appearances this season.
Bridcutt spent half of last season on loan at Elland Road, but manager Garry Monk opted to extend his stay by making his move from Sunderland permanent this summer.
The Scotland international had struggled to establish himself in the Premier League with the Black Cats since joining under Gus Poyet, and welcomed the chance to join back up with Leeds this season.
Leeds’ official Twitter account confirmed on Thursday that Bridcutt is now back in training with his Leeds team-mates and a return to action appears to be very close, which has pleased Leeds’ fans.
Here is some of their messages on Twitter:
However, Bridcutt will not be ready in time to feature in Friday’s Championship clash with Brighton, but could make his return when Leeds face Reading on Tuesday.
Leeds have been a surprise package in the Championship this season, and find themselves in the promotion race. Garry Monk’s side are in fourth place, having won five of their last six league games – including an impressive 2-0 victory over Aston Villa last weekend.
Their excellent run means a first-team return is not guaranteed for the Leeds captain, who will instead have to fight his way back into the starting XI.
The impressive Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira were Monk’s central-midfield pairing in the Aston Villa victory, but Monk will no doubt be pleased with the extra option.
