Leeds injury scare as key man to undergo Monday scan – reliable journalist
By Harvey Byrne
Leeds key man Kemar Roofe is set to undergo a scan on Monday afternoon after suffering a rib injury, according to a reliable journalist.
The 24-year-old attacker was left out of Sunday’s match day squad against Huddersfield due to the injury.
Now, Yorkshire Evening Post’s chief football writer Phil Hay has shared on his personal Twitter account that Roofe will undergo a scan to find out the extent of the damage.
Roofe made the switch to the Yorkshire giants in the summer after starring in League Two for Oxford in the previous campaign.
He has continued to impress with Leeds and has played in 35 encounters in all competitions, bringing a return of three goals and six assists.
He has been pivotal to the club’s success in the central attacking midfield role this season and the club were beaten by an impressive Huddersfield in a 2-1 defeat without him.
Many will now be hoping that Roofe’s injury is not too serious as they enter the final stages of the Championship campaign.
But, the club do boast some strength in the attacking midfield position with experienced Spaniard Pablo Hernandez ready to fill in for Roofe if necessary.
In other Leeds team news, this new signing is already twice as good as Souleymane Doukara.
