Leeds player ratings v Sutton: 21-year-old is abysmal
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Football Insider rates the Leeds players in their 1-0 defeat against Sutton in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Marco Silvestri 5 – Pulled off two fantastic saves in the first half before helping to give away an unforgivable penalty in the second half.
Lewie Coyle 6 – Looked composed in the full-back slot without pulling up any trees, but gave the penalty away.
Paul McKay 6 – The youngster looked okay in the back four. Had little to deal with, but reacted well when needed.
Liam Cooper 3 – Extremely poor performance at the back from the captain. Put his team in a worse position after 82 minutes when being booked for a second yellow card offence.
Tyler Denton 4 – Most of the Sutton attacks came down his flank. Roarie Deacon turned him on numerous occasions. A poor performance from the 21-year-old who was booked after 31 minutes.
Matt Grimes 3 – The match seemed to pass him by in the midfield. Didn’t influence it at all. An abysmal display from the 21-year-old.
Billy Whitehouse 5 – Made his debut on Sunday, but it is felt that he may now have to wait a bit longer for his next appearance. Leeds would have been looking to keep the majority of possession against Sutton, but Whitehouse was one of the reasons why they didn’t.
Stuart Dallas 6 – Looked dangerous at times, but ultimately created nothing before being brought off in the second half.
Kalvin Phillips 5 – Put in some decent set-pieces, but was anonymous in open play.
Souleymane Doukara 3 – The senior player was very poor against the National League team. Would have expected a better performance.
Marcus Antonsson 4 – Needed to use this match to show that he could do it in the first team, but he failed to create anything meaningful. One of many not to show up on Sunday.
SUBS:
Hadi Sacko (For Dallas 57 minutes) – 5
Mallik Wilks (For Doukara 64 minutes) – 6
Kemar Roofe (for Whitehouse 73 minutes) 6
