Matt Grimes was named in the Leeds line-up to face Sutton on Sunday afternoon, but Whites fans on Twitter are disappointed.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Yorkshire giants on loan for the season from Garry Monk’s former side Swansea in the summer.

He came with a lot of promise, but he has been restricted to just 11 appearances in all competitions this season.

The player played the full 90 minutes in the last round’s 2-1 victory over Cambridge with his last appearance in the league coming as a substitute against Reading on 17 December.

It is fair to say that fans are not impressed by his inclusion in the line-up and a number of supporters on social media have aired their disgust.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Grimes made the switch to the Premier League in the January 2015 window for £1.75million after starring for Exeter in League Two.

He has made seven appearances for the Swansea senior side, scoring one goal, but Leeds fans firmly believe he is not going to make it in the English top flight.

Supporters will be keen to see their side pick up a victory on Sunday afternoon as they look to add an FA Cup run to their promotion push under Monk this campaign.
