Leeds player ratings v Birmingham: Midfield trio are poor
COMMENT By Harvey Byrne
Football Insider rates the Leeds players after their 3-1 win against Birmingham in the Championship.
Rob Green 6 – A quiet first half for the goalkeeper. However, he was beaten by a superb Craig Gardner shot in the second half.
Luke Ayling 7 – The defender made a fine pass to assist Wood’s opener and he performed valiantly when asked to defend.
Kyle Bartley 7 – Mr. Dependable once more in the back line. Didn’t put a foot wrong against his old club. Saved a goal bound shot in the second half.
Pontus Jansson 6 – The Swede dealt with the threat of youngster Adams well and was unfortunate his team didn’t finish with a clean sheet
Gaetano Berardi 6 – Did a solid job in the back four once again. However, he is still lacking side of the game which Charlie Taylor brings down the left.
Liam Bridcutt 5 – Helped form the defensive unit in the centre of the park, but he needed to offer more going forward.
Eunan O’Kane 6 – Battled well in the midfield and always ensured his team kept possession.
Souleymane Doukara 4 – The attacker’s final ball is still lacking, workrate is not enough for a team competing at the top of the table.
Pablo Hernandez 4 – Made the assist for Pedraza’s goal, but that wasn’t enough to take away from his poor display.
Stuart Dallas 4 – Struggled to link up with his teammates in the final third. An overall poor display from the Irishman to go alongside the rest of attacking midfield trio.
Chris Wood 9 – The forward continued his remarkable goalscoring form by lobbing Tomasz Kuszczak for the opener before slotting home once more in the second half.
SUBS:
Kalvin Phillips (For O’Kane 59 minutes) – 8
Alfonso Pedraza (For Dallas 73 minutes) – 8
Kemar Roofe (For Hernandez 82 minutes) – 6
