Leeds player ratings v Huddersfield: 25-year-old has a shocker
By Will Butcher
Football Insider rates the Leeds players from their 2-1 loss to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield on Sunday at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Rob Green 8 – Made a number of excellent saves to deny Huddersfield in the first half, but could do little about Izzy Brown’s winning goal.
Luke Ayling 4 – Had a shocker. Rash into the tackle, picked up a yellow card for his troubles. Struggling to find the form that the 25-year-old produced earlier this season.
Kyle Bartley 7 – Went about his business with little incident, kept Elias Kachunga quiet. Supplied the assist for Chris Wood’s equalising goal.
Pontus Jansson 5 – Not his brilliant best. Jansson was too casual in possession, and was caught out of position for Huddersfield’s opener.
Gaetano Berardi 7 – Despite making an error in the build up to Huddersfield’s opener, the one-time Switzerland international made up for his error by making a magnificent last-ditch block in the first half to prevent a certain goal.
Liam Bridcutt 6 – Kept things simple but struggled to cope with Australia international Aaron Mooy in midfield. Silly yellow card in the first half.
Ronaldo Vieira 7 – Warranted his selection over Eunan O’Kane with a combative performance that saw him win the ball back on multiple occasions.
Souleymane Doukara 6 – One of the only Leeds players to make things happen, but looked lazy and struggled to remain involved in the game for long periods of time.
Pablo Hernandez 7 – Supplied the cross for Wood’s goal but struggled to have a huge impact on the game. Well marshalled by Huddersfield’s midfield.
Stuart Dallas 6 – Failed to provide the cutting edge that saw him given a starting berth against David Wagner’s side, could lose place for either Modou Barrow or Alfonso Pedraza next time out.
Chris Wood 8 – The New Zealand international is in the form of his life. A brilliant first touch saw him take the ball away from goalkeeper Danny Ward, before tapping in to equalise and score his 21st of the season.
Subs:
Alfonso Pedraza (On for Doukara, 62 mins) 7
Modou Barrow (On for Dallas, 76 mins) 6
Eunan O’Kane (On for Hernandez, 83 mins) 6
