26-year-old has played last game – Three things we learned about Leeds from 1-1 v Sunderland

2. Berardi is a liability

Gaetano Berardi got his third red card this season with a shocking tackle towards the end of the game. Paul Heckingbottom said afterwards that the player told him he went for the ball and just misjudged his tackle. Heckingbottom said he doesn’t want to stop Leeds players from tackling. That’s fine but there has to be a line. Berardi has already missed games this season and is now set for another stint on the sidelines. Leeds can’t afford to be without a player for that long and no player should be getting three red cards in a season and not thinking there’s something wrong. Berardi is a liability and must reign it in.
