Leeds tipped to axe summer signing after early teams news includes Raphinha latest – pundit
Kevin Phillips has suggested Jack Harrison could make way for Raphinha in the Leeds United team to face Wolves on Saturday.
The former Sunderland striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed big-money signing Dan James should start for the Whites.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference yesterday (October 21st), Marcelo Bielsa confirmed Leeds United winger Raphinha has “acclimatised” to the team after his exploits with Brazil over the international break.
He also confirmed the Elland Road side will be without Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo this weekend.
Harrison has started five of seven Premier League matches this season.
He is yet to replicate the splendid form which saw him net eight league goals last term.
The winger departed Manchester City and signed a permanent deal at Leeds United in July following three seasons on loan at the club.
Phillips suggested Bielsa could adapt his system to fit all three wingers into a Whites side desperate for a win.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Bielsa played all three [Raphinha, James and Harrison] to go all-out to win the match,” he told Football Insider.
“But if someone were to make way, it would have to be Harrison.
“With James coming in for big money, you’d like to think he will start. Raphinha will play, he’s one of their best players.
“I would have thought it will be a straight swap for Harrison.”

Harrison signed a three-year deal at Elland Road, with Leeds United reportedly paying up to £15million for his services.
The Whites have won just once in the league this term and sit in 17th place.
