Sources: Three clubs race to sign Leeds midfielder Gotts on permanent deal

Three clubs are racing to sign Leeds United midfielder Robbie Gotts on a permanent deal, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

This site broke the news on 7th July that United were willing to listen to offers this summer for the 21-year-old.

A Leeds source has now told Football Insider that Motherwell, Oldham and Barrow have all expressed their interest in signing Gotts permanently.

Marcelo Bielsa has given the green light for the youngster to head out of Elland Road by tomorrow’s deadline.

He is one of three Leeds stars – the others being Adam Forshaw and fellow youngster Jordan Stevens – whose contracts expire next summer.

Fellow Leeds youth prospects Ian Poveda, Leif Davis and Mateusz Bogusz have left the club on loan in the off-season.

Meanwhile, the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Charlie Cresswell, Cody Drameh, Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood have been named among the subs in 2021-22.

But Gotts is likely to leave on a permanent deal after making just three senior appearances for the Whites.

He spent the first half of last season on loan with Lincon City in League One, scoring twice and registering two assists in 12 appearances.

In January, Gotts was recalled by Leeds and sent out on loan again, this time to Salford City in the fourth tier.

There he scored three times and supplied one assist as Salford finished two points outside the play-off spots.

A versatile midfielder, Gotts can play as a right-back as well as in a range of roles in the middle of the park.
