Leeds United backed to reject £20m Tyler Adams bid – pundit
Alan Hutton has insisted Leeds United won’t sell Tyler Adams to Man United – even for a £20million January fee.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back said that although Adams would be “desperate” to join United, he would likely be a squad player under Erik ten Hag.
Last week (26 October), sources told this site that the Red Devils are keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old and have had a long-term interest in him, dating back to his RB Leipzig days.
Ten Hag’s side are continuing to monitor the USA international as they shortlist potential central midfield captures.
Adams joined Jesse Marsch’s side in the summer for £15million on a five-year deal.
When asked if Leeds would be likely to accept a bid for the midfielder, Hutton told Football Insider: “I do not think it is a player that they would want to leave.
“He has just come to the club so unless it was for a silly amount of money. I do not think they would let him leave for £5million more.

“Is he going to go to Man United and play? I do not think so. Especially not at this moment in time. Do you want to leave Leeds to become a squad player? I do not think that is ideal when he has just come to the league.
“He wants to show everybody his talent, play where he is playing. Of course if Man United come in for any player they would be desperate to go but is it going to happen? I am not so sure.“
