Leeds United supporters have taken to social media to air their views on former manager Marcelo Bielsa following the start of the Copa America.
An intriguing and controversial figure during his four-year tenure at Elland Road, Bielsa’s only job since has come in his current post with the Uruguay national team.
Football Insider regularly reported anecdotes on Bielsa from former players, and revealed via Paddy Kenny in 2021 that the Argentine carries the “personal touch” which enables players to trust him in the same way they did another ex-Leeds boss, Neil Warnock.
Bielsa was already adored by the masses in West Yorkshire even before achieving promotion to the Premier League in 2020, as Daniel Farke now looks to replicate the feat at the second attempt in 2024-25.
Bielsa’s Uruguay began their Copa America campaign on a high note, defeating another former United chief Thomas Christiansen’s Panama 3-1 in their Group C opener on Monday morning with Darwin Nunez among the scorers.
