Leeds United news: Pundit issues ‘brilliant’ Kalvin Phillips verdict after new training ground pictures emerge
Alan Hutton has insisted the Leeds United squad will be boosted by Kalvin Phillips’ return to training.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender suggested the 26-year-old’s comeback could have a similar impact Jack Grealish had at Aston Villa.
Leeds posted pictures on their official Twitter account today (9 March) of Phillips training on grass ahead of Thursday’s game against Aston Villa.

The England international has been missing since suffering a hamstring injury in early December.
Hutton admitted it would take “weeks” before Leeds fans see the very best of their homegrown hero.
However, he insisted just having Phillips back among the squad would be a major lift for his teammates.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It’s very difficult to know exactly how long it’ll take. It does normally take a good few weeks to get you back at the level that you were at.
“I think what he will do is he’ll give everybody about him a boost. Even having him back in training is brilliant news. I remember situations when I played for Villa and Jack Grealish was out injured for a long period of time.
“He came back and he showed flashes of brilliance. He wasn’t at the level that he was prior to the injury but everybody had a lift from it.
“I think that’s what he gives Leeds just knowing that he’s on the pitch. He’s a communicator and he gets people in the right areas. That’s also what he gives, out with just his performances.”

Phillips has sat out Leeds’ last 12 Premier League games through injury.
The Whites lost nine, drew one and won just two of the matches he missed.
In other news, Leeds United star has been told “we’ll get you to Liverpool” by leading agency.
