Paddy Kenny suggests ‘massive’ transfer boost for Leeds after ‘unbelievable’ reveal
The expansion of Elland Road will bring Leeds United an enhanced matchday atmosphere and more money to spend on transfers.
That is according to ex-Whites shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Leeds’ stadium plans.
Sky Sports revealed on 15th June that Elland Road’s capacity is set to be boosted by 16,000 seats as part of a major redevelopment.

Finance expert Kieran Maguire told this site on 15th June that the expansion can help the club compete with the top-flight’s financial elite.
Kenny claims that the plans will provide a boost to both the atmosphere at Elland Road and the club’s transfer kitty.
“They are trying to build on what they’ve done over the past few years,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“In getting promoted and then finishing in the top half of the table, that was an amazing achievement.
“This [stadium expansion] brings more revenue and brings massively more finances and might give them more money to spend in the transfer market.”
“It’s unbelievable the atmosphere as it is already. When I played there, the club wasn’t in as good a position as it is now. But even when there was only 25,000 there it was still unbelievable.
“So I can see plenty of positives. I’m sure there are lots of Leeds fans who haven’t got the chance to go and watch them who might do now.”

The original plan was to boost capacity at Elland Road by 5,000 seats.
But the club scrapped plans to relocate their youth academy in favour of lifting capacity by an extra 10,000.
