Kieran Maguire: Leeds United to welcome VIPs as ‘first-class’ deal agreed

Leeds United will likely offer an enhanced corporate experience to partners under the terms of their latest commercial scheme.

That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Whites’ new category for their most prestigious sponsors.

Leeds announced last Friday (29 July) that they have expanded their partnership with local energy drinks brand Boost Drinks.

The club also revealed that Boost is their first “Gold Tier” partner, giving them increased license to display signage at Elland Road.

Maguire claimed that the West Yorkshire club could also grant Boost enhanced access to their hospitality facilities on the most prestigious matchdays.

“This is exactly the same as buying a first-class train or flight ticket,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

“You get there in the same amount of time but with additional benefits. We have similar in terms of what’s on offer in terms of matchday experiences.

“It therefore seems logical to extend that to your commercial partner base. They might get an increase in the number of times they get to meet the players and the number of tickets they get.

“There may also be increased access to hospitality when the likes of Man United come to town compared to a small club like Crystal Palace.”

Leeds posted a surplus of £26million for the 2020-21 campaign.

They were one of only a handful of clubs to avoid a loss for the Covid-hit season.
