Leeds United transfer news: Aston Villa tipped to pull off ‘unbelievable’ Kalvin Phillips signing on one condition – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Aston Villa could pull off the “unbelievable” signing from Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United if top-four clubs cool their interest.
The former Villa defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Villans would be an “attractive proposition” for the 26-year-old.
The Daily Mail reported on Saturday (12 March) that both Villa and Newcastle are in the hunt for Phillips.

The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are also reportedly keen but have other priorities ahead of the summer window.
Hutton suggested Villa could pounce instead if top-four clubs remain cool on a move.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I would like to think he could go and learn an awful lot off Steven Gerrard.
“We know Aston Villa are an ambitious club, they want to be in the European places. It’s going to take them a little bit of time to get there. I think it will be a big overhaul, possibly, in the summer.
“To get somebody like Kalvin Phillips in would be an unbelievable signing. They have got the money. It’s really down to what happens with Leeds and what options he’s got on the table.
“If we’re talking top-four teams, Champions League teams, then you would probably think he would sway towards that. They’re all ready-made teams who are looking to challenge.
“From Villa’s side of it, it’s an attractive proposition moving forward. If you want to be part of something, building for the future, then, of course.
“It really depends what’s on the table for him.”

Football Insider revealed last week (9 March) international has been told by some of the biggest agents in the game they have the connections to seal him a move to a Champions League giant.
A Leeds United source has told Football Insider that the club value Phillips at over £60million.
In other news, pundit claims “rumour has it” Aston Villa star “could be leaving”.
