‘Incredible’ – Danny Mills blown away by new Rangers signings

Danny Mills has heaped praise on Rangers for already preparing for next season after they announced the permanent signings of Scott Wright and Jack Simpson.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England defender compared Rangers’ moves in the transfer market to those of Manchester United’s glory days under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Rangers confirmed last week Wright, 23, will move to Ibrox in the summer and then fast-forwarded his arrival on deadline day to join on an immediate deal.

They did the same with Simpson. It was initially announced he would join at the end of the season on a pre-contract before Monday night’s deadline day deal was confirmed.

Rangers have also signed midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh on a pre-contract, although he has been loaned by parent club Bournemouth to Wycombe Wanderers for the second half of the campaign.

Asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the Light Blues’ transfer window so far, Mills said: “You look at the likes of Manchester United back in the day and even Southampton over the last few years.

“It’s ‘Right Ok, let’s actually look two or three transfer windows ahead, so we don’t get caught out on these types of things and we get the deals done early. We know that players come in, it’s done and dusted, we don’t have to think about it anymore.’

“It’s already happened before it needs to happen.

“There are a lot of experienced people up there at Rangers, obviously within the coaching set up, some incredible experience from a lot of different clubs.

“It’s a big club, they’ve been around it and know how to run it.”

In other news, Rangers have been tipped by a top pundit to swoop for Billy Gilmour after a big development.
