Liverpool destined to seal Nnamdi Collins deal after what he has said about transfer

Liverpool have just been given an open goal to secure the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Nnamdi Collins this summer.

The German is pushing to leave the Bundesliga outfit at the end of the season, with a recent change in agency prompting the decision that he is ready to take the next step in his career.

The Reds have been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old this summer, and they have already been in attendance at the Deutsche Bank Park to watch him play in recent weeks.

Liverpool’s transfer plans for the upcoming window are already beginning to take shape, and adding to their options in the centre of their backline is one of their key priorities.

Nnamdi Collins to jump at chance to join Liverpool

Liverpool will be hoping to use the pulling power of the Premier League to tempt Collins to make the switch to England ahead of next season, but the reality is that it looks like he will hardly need any convincing.

The defender has been a key figure for ex-Reds midfielder Albert Riera’s side this season, having started 13 league games, but he has already made it clear that he would jump at the chance to move to Anfield.

According to Get German Football News, Collins revealed last year that he thinks the Premier League is “fantastic, especially Liverpool,” while adding that he feels players should always set “high goals” for themselves.

He evidently has a soft spot for the Merseysiders, and with that in mind, he will surely be doing everything in his power to try and force through a move this summer.

Sky Sports Germany recently revealed that Arne Slot’s side are not the only club chasing Collins ahead of the summer, but based on the player’s stance, they will surely back themselves to get a deal done.

Reds to make further centre-back moves this summer

Football Insider recently revealed that Liverpool are planning to add at least one more centre-back to their group ahead of next season, with the club hierarchy feeling that there is an imbalance in that area of the squad.

Ibrahima Konate’s future remains hugely uncertain as he enters the final few months of his contract, while a long-term injury to Giovanni Leoni has left Slot short of options this term.

A £60million deal for Jeremy Jacquet has already been agreed, but there could yet be further additions in that area through potentially Collins and other targets.

A long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk also remains on the shopping list, and that is another issue that could be addressed ahead of next season.
