Liverpool fans all say the same thing about Joe Gomez after confirmed news

Liverpool fans all believe that the summer transfer window is the right time to sell Joe Gomez after his status for the upcoming fixture against Everton was confirmed.

Arne Slot spoke about the 27-year-old’s status for the upcoming Merseyside derby during his pre-match press conference.

The Liverpool boss said, “Joe, it’s his same leg where he had the injury last time. We are still assessing that but he will definitely not be available tomorrow.”

The England international had only just returned from injury on Sunday (9 February) to feature in Liverpool’s defeat against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.

The versatile defender had been ruled out of 10 matches prior to that comeback, but he’s now immediately facing another spell on the sidelines after getting hurt early on against Plymouth.

Joe Gomez update inspires strong Liverpool supporters’ reaction

Gomez had to be replaced on the day as the Reds fell to a shock defeat, and the injury has proven to be a serious one.

The injury news will be a big blow to Slot’s defensive options, which had been stretched throughout January due to Gomez’s unavailability.

Slot had only just got the Englishman back to full fitness when injury struck, once again leaving him short at the back ahead of a busy period.

Gomez’s ability to play right-back and centre-back makes him a versatile option for Liverpool, which is why losing him is such a significant problem for the club.

Liverpool fans taken aback by Joe Gomez’s availability

Gomez’s second injury in such quick succession has created concern amongst Liverpool supporters who have begun to question if he’s reliable enough to be kept at the club.

The defender has struggled with fitness issues throughout his entire career, having missed a total of 259 games since 2015 and fans now believe he should be sold.
