Liverpool fans told to trust Jurgen Klopp after ‘surprise’ Liverpool update – pundit

Liverpool will challenge Man City for the 2022-23 Premier League title even if they don’t sign any more players this summer.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ summer signings.

According to the Liverpool Echo‘s Theo Squires (19 June), the signing of Calvin Ramsay marked the conclusion of the Reds’ summer transfer business.

The 18-year-old became Liverpool’s third arrival of the summer, following the arrivals of Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho from Benfica and Fulham respectively.

Kenny insists fans must trust Jurgen Klopp if he is happy with his current squad.

“I think I saw somewhere that Liverpool were done for this window,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“But you never know what might happen, you never know who might become available.

“Nunez came in for £80million or something like that so that was a huge fee. Salah is also like a new signing now after he signed his contract.

“It looked like he was going to go but he is staying. There wasn’t much between Man City and Liverpool last season and if Jurgen Klopp is happy then nothing more needs to be said.

“I’m sure they won’t be far off City again this season even after they signed Haaland. It might be a bit of a surprise to some people but you have to trust Klopp.”

Liverpool are currently in Thailand as part of their pre-season preparations.

They were beaten 4-0 by Liverpool in a friendly on Tuesday (12 July).
