Expert issues ‘huge’ Liverpool claim as Phil Roscoe poached
Liverpool have a “huge” vacancy to fill following Phil Roscoe’s departure to Aston Villa.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Roscoe spent 17 years at Liverpool, starting out as an academy coach before moving into the welfare department and ultimately becoming academy player care manager.

Training Ground Guru reported earlier this month (10 May) that he had been poached by Steven Gerrard’s Villa.
Roscoe has since confirmed the news via his LinkedIn page.
His remit on Merseyside was to safeguard the wellbeing of Liverpool’s rising stars.
Dinnery emphasised the importance of this role and how vital it is that the Reds appoint the right candidate as Roscoe’s successor.
“It can be a slippery slope,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“For some young players, you might go training for a couple of hours in the morning and then you might end up going to the bookies or something like that.
“The pressures can get to you and you end up with financial concerns after that. Keith Gillespie has talked about this recently.
“The decisions you make at that age can have repercussions, not just for your footballing career but for the rest of your life.
“So it’s a huge role. I think the fact there is a greater emphasis on it nowadays speaks volumes.”

Liverpool’s academy has produced the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones in recent years.
Their development side finished 4th in the Premier League 2 Division 1 this term.
