Liverpool news: Fabio Carvalho told to U-turn after transfer update in last 24 hours – Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Fabio Carvalho to U-turn on a move to Liverpool and stay at Fulham for another season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed the 19-year-old would not get enough game time at Liverpool which would stunt his development.

A Reds source told Football Insider yesterday (5 April) they have reached an agreement with Carvalho as well as with Celtic winger Ben Doak, 16, and Derry City winger Trent Kone-Doherty, 15.

It is understood deals have been agreed in principle with the teenage trio.

Asked whether Carvalho has the ability to make an instant impact at Anfield, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He does.

“But if I was him, I wouldn’t go there because you’re not going to play. Why would you go to Liverpool now?

“Where do you fit him in? Does he want to just play the Carabao Cup games? He’s not going to start in that team, there are too many better players.

“If I was him I would go to a Premier League club where he’s going to play. Even stay at Fulham where he’s going to get a chance to play in the Premier League next season. That’s what he would be best off doing.

“He’s not going to get the game time at the moment at Liverpool. It would be hard to say no because it’s a big club and you’re going to double your money at least.

“Klopp’s trying his hardest to keep Firmino, Mane, Salah, Jota and Diaz happy with their game time. Minamino can’t get a game so Carvalho’s not going to get the game time he wants and that will affect his development.”
