Liverpool player ratings v West Ham: Four players score highly
By Emma Sanders
Football Insider rates the Liverpool players during the 2-2 draw against West Ham at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Loris Karius 5 – Another poor performance. Should have saved the first goal and Jurgen Klopp must be considering dropping him.
Nathaniel Clyne 8 – Did well at right-back and West Ham mounted very little attacks from the left-wing. Solid performance and offered support in attack.
Joel Matip 6 – Liverpool’s best defender was a little off the mark on his return. Should have done better for the second goal. Not his best performance.
Dejan Lovren 6 – Did okay but was substituted at half-time for what looked like a minor injury.
James Milner 8 – Another great performance from the vice-captain. Defended with solidity and attacked with energy.
Giorginio Wijnaldum 7 – Is a better option in the holding role than Emre Can and showed that today. Lacked an attacking threat at times though.
Jordan Henderson (C) 7 – Another captain’s performance and could have scored the winner with a sensational strike in the second half which drew a great save from Darren Randolph.
Adam Lallana 8 – A goal on his return to the starting line-up. He’s hugely missed when not in the side and his intensity and attacking threat showed that today.
Sadio Mane 7 – Couldn’t impact the game despite getting into some good positions. His form has dropped in recent games.
Divock Origi 8 – Scored his fourth goal in as many games and was a constant threat in attack.
Roberto Firmino 7 – Quiet performance from the Brazilian. Plays much better through the middle rather than out wide.
