Liverpool tipped to seal centre-midfielder signing after major Romano update – pundit
Paul Robinson has tipped Liverpool to enter the transfer market for a centre-midfielder before the window shuts on Tuesday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and England goalkeeper said he “cannot believe” the Reds have not replaced Georginio Wijnaldum yet.
Wijnaldum left Liverpool upon the expiration of his contract earlier this year.

According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his Here We Go podcast (August 24th), the Reds are “still active” in the market and are “calling agents”.
Robinson believes centre-midfielders or attacking midfielders are the subject of the calls.
“I cannot believe they haven’t replaced Wijnaldum yet,” he told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.
“I presumed they’d sell a few of their fringe players and then sign a player to fill the void left by Wijnaldum.
“There’s a few days left in the window though so I expect them to bring a centre-midfielder in. I think it will be a centre-midfielder or a centre-attacking midfielder.
“When I look at Liverpool, a lot of people are not talking about them.

“Yes, they have not made as many signings as other teams but people forget that Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Diogo Jota back. These are players who missed a big chunk of last season. These are like new signings.
“Liverpool finished the season so strongly last season and with players returning they’ll reach another level again. Their XI is strong enough to challenge.”
