Liverpool told to agree big-money Naby Keita deal after source’s reveal – expert
Kevin Campbell has claimed Naby Keita is deserving of a new contract at Liverpool after playing “a huge part” in the 2021-22 season.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested keeping the 27-year-old would also help the Merseysiders save money in the transfer market.
A Liverpool source told Football Insider on Friday (10 June) that Jurgen Klopp’s side have opened talks with Keita over what would be a fresh long-term contract extension.

His future has previously been in doubt but it is understood that the Reds have moved to end speculation with a number of sides currently monitoring his situation.
Keita, who made 40 appearances during the 2021-22 season, is set to enter the last 12 months of his Anfield deal.
The Guinea international started the FA Cup and League Cup finals as Liverpool ended their campaign with a domestic double.
When asked if he thought Keita had done enough to warrant a contract extension, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “I do.
“Liverpool missed out on the two big trophies, but their squad was outstanding all season. Naby Keita played a huge part in their success.
“He is someone who knows what is expected of him under Klopp, and he can make a difference to that side – we’ve seen that.

“He’s a capable squad player and a starter at times, so I don’t see why Liverpool wouldn’t go and renew his contract.
“If he doesn’t renew then you have to go the whole hog and try and get another midfielder in.”
