Liverpool told to U-turn as three stars set to exit – Robinson

Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool cannot afford to let Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all leave at the end of their current contracts.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suggested the club should offer Keita, 27, and Milner, 36, new deals.

Keita, Milner and Oxlade-Chamberlain are all out of contract at the end of June next year.

According to the Liverpool Echo, via Anfield Watch (19 November), the trio are all set to leave Anfield on a free next summer.

Liverpool’s midfield has been under severe scrutiny this season and January reinforcements are expected in that area.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the latest update, Robinson said: “They simply cannot let all three of them leave on a free.

“They have not got enough personnel. It would have to be a huge transfer window from Liverpool if they did leave because they are already short in that position. How could they let three midfielders leave?

“I would be very reluctant to let Milner go given what he brings to the dressing room, squad and team as a whole. He does not play every week but he is an important person to have around.

“I’d also be reluctant to let Keita go. I know he has had his injury problems but they are short in midfield as it is. There would have to be an overhaul.”

In other news, Liverpool star Fabio Carvalho quits by text message and pundit is not surprised at all.
