Liverpool transfer news: Pundit suggests ‘massive’ Marcus Rashford move is possible
Noel Whelan has claimed a “very controversial” Liverpool move for Marcus Rashford could end up being a “sensible” transfer.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Jurgen Klopp’s “man-management skills” could unlock the 24-year-old’s best once again.
According to the Manchester Evening News (17 March), Liverpool have informed Rashford’s camp of their interest in a potential summer move, with Barcelona also circling the England international.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week (7 March) that the forward is considering his future at Old Trafford after a concerning lack of game time.
No player has moved between Man United and Liverpool since 1964.
Whelan claimed the “massively difficult” move “shouldn’t happen” because of the rivalry between the northwest clubs.
“It would be very controversial,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“It’s like a Leeds United player going to play for Man United – it’s one of these things that just shouldn’t happen in terms of what fans think and the rivalry between the two clubs.
“But if they’re rebuilding that Liverpool front line, it’d be a massively difficult transfer – but a sensible one.
“If you look at man-management skills in the Premier League, there’s none better than Jurgen Klopp.”

Rashford has netted just five goals in 26 appearances across all competitions this term.
The Man United academy product is out of contract in June 2023, but has the option to extend his stay a further year.
