Local police aim extraordinary rant at Leeds ticket prices on Twitter
By Harvey Byrne
Police from Preston have delivered an extraordinary Twitter rant at the pricing of tickets at Elland Road ahead of the Lancashire club’s meeting with Leeds on Saturday.
Fans in England have often been critical of the high pricing from club’s across the country and supporters in the Football League feel especially hard done by due to the quality of football on show.
Now, Leeds have priced tickets for adult Preston fans as high as £37, while seniors and 16-22 year old tickets are valued at £25 and Under-16s and Under-11s at £18 and £9 respectively.
These cost have particularly caught the attention of the local police from Preston who sarcastically put on their personal Twitter account “if you can actually afford to go to the game” when passing information, while also sharing the ‘twenty is plenty’ hashtag.
Leeds fans themselves have often been critical of the pricing at Elland Road with some places in the stadium valued as high as £41.
However, the demand is still there from the Yorkshire giants’ fan base and while they continue to be a success in the Championship those in charge of the sales will continue to price tickets as they do.
