‘Lot of ups and downs’ – Rangers midfielder confirms Ibrox departure in Instagram post

On-loan Rangers midfielder Sean Goss has confirmed his departure from Ibrox after his loan spell came to an end – and admitted his spell at Ibrox had “a lot of ups and downs.”

The QPR midfielder joined the Gers in January and immediately became an important member of the side before being frozen out towards the end of the campaign.

Goss revealed that he “learned a lot” during his spell at Ibrox as he thanked everyone at the Light Blues in a post on Instagram.

“I would like to say a big thanks to everyone at @rangersfc for the opportunity!” Goss said on his personal Instagram account.

“A lot of ups and downs but I learnt a lot & loved my time here at the football club! Wishing the club and everyone involved all the best in the future!

Football Insider verdict:

Quite a few Rangers fans would have liked to see Goss get an extended loan deal or the Gers buying the midfielder but he hasn’t done enough to merit a second chance at Ibrox and it is right that he has returned to QPR. With the Ibrox giants already expected to bring in a large number of players over the summer then it isn’t too much to think that they are going to bring in a better quality of player than those that are at the club already. Goss has a bright future ahead of him though and is someone QPR should look to give a chance next season under Steve McClaren. The German-born midfielder is a classy operator and despite never really doing it consistently enough at Ibrox, he will only get better as he gets more games under his belt and is allowed a chance to play regularly. Gers fans will now be excited to see who comes in over the next few weeks to replace Goss as they prepare for Steven Gerrard to take over next month.
