Man United fan Luke Littler reacts to major Liverpool transfer news
Luke Littler has reacted to a big Liverpool transfer update as Arne Slot looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
The darts world champion, who lost to Luke Humphries in the Premier League final on Thursday, 29 May, is a Manchester United fan, but his social media activity shows he is keeping up to date with the latest happenings at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Slot is vying to retain the top-flight title he won in his first season in the Reds dugout, while acclimatising to life without Trent Alexander-Arnold.
With Alexander-Arnold’s departure in mind, Liverpool are closing in on Jeremie Frimpong, who has shone for Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso’s stewardship.

Littler reacts to Florian Wirtz to Liverpool update
Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Liverpool are nearing the addition of Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen.
Similarly, Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Instagram [30 May] as he wrote: “Update: Liverpool are advancing in talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz!
“Negotiations underway after initial bid over €100m with add-ons being discussed for total €130m package as new proposal forwarded, final step of the agreement. Wirtz wants to join Liverpool and he’s ready to fly.”
Littler gave Romano’s post a like.
Liverpool set to sell players to pave way for Wirtz move
As revealed by Football Insider, the Reds are nearing a British club record deal to sign Wirtz, who has scored 16 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions this term.
Florian Wirtz stats | All competitions 2024/25 |
Appearances | 45 |
Goals | 16 |
Assists | 14 |
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast that Liverpool are set to sell forward players to fund their move for the Leverkusen man.
Luis Diaz could be set for an Anfield exit even though he helped Slot’s men win the Premier League title by notching 13 goals and five assists in the top flight this season.
The Colombian has been a good servant for Liverpool since joining the Merseyside giants from Porto in 2022, making a total of 148 appearances.
But the potential pain of his possible departure could be eased by the arrival of Wirtz, whose eye-catching Bundesliga exploits suggest he would be able to shine in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have eyed Anthony Gordon, who could be viewed as a direct replacement for Diaz, thanks to his direct wing play.
