'The time has come' – Celtic figure thrust into limelight reveals insight into preparation

Celtic goalkeeper Dorus de Vries has revealed that his process hasn’t changed since he became the Hoops’ first choice goalkeeper.
The 37-year-old has recently been thrust into the limelight having stepped up to fill the void as Craig Gordon misses the next three months due to a knee injury.
The Dutchman spoke ahead of the Bhoys’ Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle to the Hoops’ official Twitter account.
“I have been training hard since I got here, trying to maintain focus and standards, and that’s all I have done since I arrived. Now the time has come that I am playing and I need to make sure I am ready.”

De Vries was signed by Brendan Rodgers last season, the pair having worked together at Swansea.
At first the move didn’t seem to work out, as de Vries was named the new goalkeeper then lost his place back to Gordon after some indifferent performances.
De Vries now has a chance to redeem himself, as he is set to feature in some high profile matches such as the Europa League last 32 tie against Zenit and trips to both Pittodrie and Ibrox.
There is also competition from Scott Bain for de Vries to deal with, with the Dundee goalkeeper having been signed on loan until the end of the season.
The Dutchman has the chance to make the position his own, and the forthcoming matches will be a good test to see if he is able to cope with the pressure of being Celtic’s number one goalkeeper.
