Man City have suffered ‘big blow’ after new Kyle Walker injury news – Robinson
Paul Robinson has claimed Kyle Walker’s injury is “a really big blow” for Man City ahead of fixtures against Sevilla and Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said Pep Guardiola’s side have a “problem” in the full-back areas.
Walker was replaced by Nathan Ake with 10 minutes to go at Villa Park on Saturday (3 September).
Speaking to club media (3 September), Guardiola revealed the right-back suffered an injury in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News‘ Simon Bajkowski (5 September), Walker missed training this Monday as City get ready for their trip to Sevilla.
When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the news, Robinson said: “Walker has been a top-class player for a long time.
“The manager relies on him. It will be a really big blow for them if he misses the game against Sevilla and Spurs.
“The only real problem City have got is a lack of options in the full-back positions.

“[Joao] Cancelo is playing at left-back. If Walker was injured, Cancelo would come across but then that movs the problem to left-back. [Sergio] Gomez has not played a lot, [Aymeric] Laporte is injured and Ake has only just come back from an injury himself.
“They do not have a lot of options. It looks like Ake is going to have to play two games in a week, which is not ideal.”
