Man City star slammed for ‘non-existent’ display against Villarreal

One Man City star did not impress supporters despite Pep Guardiola’s side cruising to victory over Villarreal.

Man City beat Villarreal 2-0 with Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva on the scoresheet for the Citizens in Spain.

It continues Man City‘s unbeaten start to the Champions League league phase after a win against Napoli and a draw at Monaco.

However, Guardiola faces a decision over the inclusion of one star in Man City’s next match after he was slammed by the clubs fans.

Jeremy Doku was ‘very poor’ vs Villarreal

Jeremy Doku dazzled for Belgium against Wales during the international break, but he was not able to replicate that performance against Villarreal.

It was thought that Guardiola could build his Man City team around Doku, but the winger has yet to score a Premier League goal for the club this season.

One fan said: “Doku need to improve.”

Have Savinho and Doku ever both been good at the same time?,” one fan asked.

Another fan commented: “Doku is having a very poor game and Savinho has surprised me ngl.”

Whilst another said: “Doku is the least player on the pitch.. bro has turned himself to linesman.”

Doku back to being Doku I suppose it was fun while it lasted,” one fan claimed.

Another fan suggested Doku needs a break: “Doku has been off this week. Probably too many mins. Need a break.”

Pep Guardiola requires more productivity from Doku

Whilst Haaland is in frightening form, Guardiola may be concerned about the lack of goals from elsewhere in his side.

Guardiola will be looking at the likes of Doku to increase their goal tallies, so Man City don’t become over reliant on Haaland.

No player has scored more than once for Man City this season other than Haaland, and players like Doku need to be finding the net more often.
