Man City star with 12 duel wins and 87% pass completion on Tuesday is primed to terrorise Newcastle

Jeremy Doku scored two goals and notched an assist in Belgium’s 7-0 rout over Liechtenstein on 18 November.

Doku has become an instant starter at Man City after massively stepping up his game this season.

Prior to the November international break, Doku was menacing against Liverpool with Rio Ferdinand blown away by his incredible performance.

Away from the Etihad, the Belgian has continued his scintillating form with his country as they secured their place for the 2026 World Cup.

Doku dazzles as Belgium destroy Liechtenstein

The Red Devils comfortably put the 206th placed team in FIFA’s rankings aside as they expectedly dominated proceedings.

But it was the 23-year-old who stole the show as he scored twice with both feet in the first half.

The number 11 also was a creative spark, teeing up Charles De Ketelaere as well as racking up two key passes, creating one big chance in the process.

As is usually the case with Doku, his dribbling was world-class, completing eight of his 11 attempted dribbles as he caused the opposing defence nightmares.

Conversely, the winger was hungry to win back possession, winning 12 of his 17 ground duels during 71 minutes.

Guardiola to call on Doku’s class to claim victory against Newcastle

Looking to continue the Cityzens superb form in the 2025-26 campaign, Guardiola‘s side take on Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The Magpies have made their home ground a tough place to go, remaining undefeated in their last five matches on Tyneside.

Yet, they have shown cracks of late in their usually solid backline, failing to keep a clean sheet in their last four games in the English top-flight.

Guardiola will be looking to Doku to cause the Toon rearguard carnage with his close dribbling and dynamite speed as they look to close the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal.

With Newcastle’s defensive frailties and the Belgian’s incredible form right now, Man City will be high on confidence to get a result away from home.

Doku is primed to go supernova and terrorise Newcastle.
