Man City tipped for Kalvin Phillips bidding war after £50m Leeds United reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has tipped “a few clubs” to launch bids to sign Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips after Man City tabled an offer.
The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 26-year-old’s saga could “drag on” throughout the summer.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday (13 June), City have made a bid to sign Phillips, with Leeds understood to be open to selling for around £50million.

A recruitment source has since told this site (15 June) that the England international has told Leeds he wants to join Pep Guardiola’s men this summer.
However, Hutton suggested other clubs could join the race for the midfielder’s capture.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think £50million is a good number. Obviously Leeds will try and squeeze as much out of Manchester City as possible.
“I think this one will drag on because of the amount of money we’re talking about.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if somebody else threw their hat into the ring. There are probably going to be a few clubs.
“The draw to go to Man City is huge because you know you’re going to compete instantly.
“If you go to a Newcastle or Aston Villa, teams who can afford to pay those fees and wages, that’s a process. That’s going to take time to get to the end of where they see themselves.
“Obviously Manchester City are there now, so it would be hard to turn that one down.”

Phillips‘ contract at Elland Road runs until the summer of 2024.
He has played 234 times for Leeds since breaking through the youth ranks.
