Man City tipped to complete ‘huge’ deal after behind-the-scenes Erling Haaland reveal – pundit
Man City owners may try and buy a club in Norway after Erling Haaland’s successful start to life at the Etihad, according to Frank McAvennie.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-West Ham, Celtic and Scotland striker praised the City Football Group for wanting to add to their roster of clubs.
The Sun reported last week (19 September) that Man City have sent a physio with Haaland on international duty.
It is claimed they want to share the practices with Norway that have helped the 22-year-old start so well in England.
The striker has already netted 14 goals in just 10 appearances across all competitions for his new club this term.
“What they are looking for is a club that they can basically put their players in at, I think that’s basically what it is,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Charlotte Cohen.
“They’ve got a few clubs. Other teams have got it, a feeder team. If they have a boy who is 19, they can send him over to Norway or Belgium and get good minutes there. It’s good because they get game time.
“I can see what Man City are doing, it’s good. They’re looking to the future and want to develop players over there, which is huge.
“You can’t develop playing reserve team football. You need to get kicked, get bullied on the pitch and see what character comes through.

“I think that’s what they are trying to do. They’ve got that much money, the best manager and everything else.
“They want to have another club they can put players to, it’s a good idea.”
In other news, Kieran Maguire has revealed Man City could now “quietly dispose” of a controversial deal.
