Man United could complete Marcus Rashford sale after £50m source reveal – expert
Man United would have to sell top stars “on the cheap” if Erik ten Hag is to raise transfer funds this summer, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Red Devils players are at an “all-time low” after another trophyless season.
A United source told Football Insider incoming manager (23 April) Ten Hag will have overall control over transfer policy but will have to operate under strict financial restrictions.

It is understood Ten Hag will have just a £50million budget, with the coffers expected to be boosted by player sales.
Whelan claimed underwhelming stars such as Marcus Rashford and Aaron Wan-Bissaka would fetch prices well below their potential.
“You wouldn’t get much for these players. They’re at an all-time low,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“They’ve just not shown enough. They’d be going on the cheap.
“People like Rashford haven’t played enough, I don’t think they’d get too much for Wan-Bissaka – his performances have been very poor.
“I struggle to see how you’re going to raise the required amount of money through player sales after the season they’ve had.
“You’ll only get what they’re worth right now – rather than what they could have got last season or what they could potentially be worth.”

Man United sit sixth in the Premier League with just four games remaining.
The Old Trafford club spent £126million on new faces under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last summer (2021).
